A helicopter from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations delivered about 500 kg of humanitarian aid to the mountainous regions of Dagestan, which were cut off due to bad weather. This was announced by the department on April 15.

"An Mi-8 aircraft of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations was sent to assist the population. In the morning, the helicopter landed in the village of Kuli, where the loading was carried out," the report says.

It is noted that due to the difficult weather conditions, some residents of mountainous areas cannot leave populated areas, and ground transportation is temporarily impossible.

In addition, rescuers delivered medicines, food and basic necessities with a total weight of 500 kg to the residents of Farm Musra, Mukhlutz and Shchukhla farms. According to the ministry, assistance to the population in hard-to-reach areas continues.

On April 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a list of instructions to eliminate the consequences of floods in Dagestan. The Head of State instructed to include representatives of federal authorities, executive bodies of Dagestan, as well as Deputy Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Marat Ramazanov in the commission. Alexander Kurenkov, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, was appointed Chairman of the commission.

On April 9, Russian Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov proposed that the situation in Dagestan and Chechnya be classified as a federal emergency. He also pointed out the need to develop plans for the restoration of residential and social facilities.

As a result of heavy rainfall on April 5, the Gedzhukhsky reservoir overflowed in Dagestan, which caused an earthen rampart to be breached. It was noted that a pregnant woman and a child died after they were swept away by the current. In addition, an apartment building in Makhachkala collapsed.
