The Supreme Court of the Luhansk People's Republic has sentenced Krzysztof Josef Flacek, a 47-year-old mercenary from Poland, to 13 years in prison in a high-security penal colony for participating in hostilities on the side of Ukraine. This was reported on April 16 in the Telegram channel of the court.

"According to the results of the judicial review, Flachek was sentenced under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Mercenary activity" to 13 years of imprisonment in a penal colony. – Ed.) of strict regime," the message says.

According to the court, the convict took part in military operations in the special military operation zone as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On March 24, a court sentenced Georgian citizen Shmaga Digmelashvili in absentia to 14 years in prison for participating in the armed conflict on the side of Ukraine. It is clarified that the investigation and the court established how in March 2022, Digmelashvili joined the Georgian National Legion as a mercenary.
