Plastic and reconstructive surgeon Kira Kopylova-Lehman listed the main contraindications for almost any aesthetic surgery in an interview with Izvestia. Among them are acute infections, decompensated heart and vascular diseases, uncontrolled blood pressure, severe diabetes, severe blood clotting disorders, and active oncological diseases. Contraindications also include severe liver and kidney diseases, pregnancy and breastfeeding, acute mental conditions, severe eating disorders, severe exacerbation of autoimmune and skin diseases in the area of surgery.

"It is important to know that active smoking dramatically impairs blood supply to tissues and increases the risk of necrosis, bad scars and complications after major operations on the face, chest, abdomen and body," the doctor emphasized.

Before a planned operation, it is necessary to check the condition of the body. The basic set of examinations, according to the surgeon, usually includes a general blood test, biochemistry, coagulogram (coagulation test), blood type and Rh factor, infection tests according to the requirements of the clinic, ECG. Sometimes you may need a fluorography or chest X-ray, as well as an examination by a therapist.
