Post-war Leningrad was shaken by a series of brutal murders, which the main characters of the series "Rooks" will have to deal with in peacetime. The premiere of the multi-part film starts on April 26 on the REN TV channel.

The historical detective thriller was shot by order of REN TV and the online cinema Wink. The producers have assembled a powerful cast in one multi—part film - the audience will see more than 150 characters. At least 250 locations were used for filming: St. Petersburg itself with its courtyards, wells and canals, as well as the natural landscape in the form of Lake Ladoga, became the main ones.

Each episode is like a new step in the investigation. However, the further it progresses, the more terrible details are revealed to specialists.

The action takes place in 1947. Police captain Alexander Ratnikov (Artem Tkachenko) is investigating a series of murders in Leningrad. The trail leads to Pavel Vedernikov (Alexey Makarov), a technologist at a local fish farm. It turns out that in fact, technologist Vedernikov is a former deputy head of the Nazi concentration camp for children "Grachi" named Gunther Seiler. Posing as a Soviet citizen, Zeiler hunts for his family's art collection, which disappeared during the war. The criminal is ready to walk over corpses, just to get what he wants.
