- Hristoforou urged to pay close attention to Lavrov's words about the militarization of NATO
Statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the growing militarization of NATO amid internal contradictions in the alliance require serious attention. This was stated on April 16 by Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou during his broadcast on the YouTube channel.
"What's the point of NATO without the United States if they don't hatch plans to attack Russia? Lavrov warned about this very thing: militarization is happening very quickly," said Hristoforou.
According to him, without Washington's support, the alliance faces the issue of its own effectiveness. The accelerated build-up of military activity may be related to NATO's attempts to define its role in the context of a possible decrease in US participation.
On April 15, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference following talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping that the United States intends to create a new military bloc with Ukraine as a leading participant. Lavrov added that the United States wants Europe to obstruct Russia's actions, which will allow the United States to develop its policy in the Chinese direction.
Indeed, on April 3, Kellogg called on the United States to withdraw from NATO and create a new military bloc with Ukraine. In addition to Ukraine, Kellogg also suggested considering Australia and Japan as members of such an alliance. Of the European countries, Germany or Poland were named as "ready to join the battle and reactivated."
