The BBC TV channel plans to lay off about 2,000 employees amid cost cuts. This was reported on April 15 by Sky News channel.

"The BBC will cut up to 2,000 jobs as part of the largest staff reduction in the last 15 years. Employees were informed about the staff reduction during the general meeting, <...> but did not specify who exactly it would affect," the publication says.

It is noted that this is the largest reduction in staff for the first time in 15 years. This is due to an attempt to reduce costs by 10% over the next three years.
