The summer season of mine clearance of agricultural lands has started in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). On April 16, Izvestia publishes footage of the activities of specialists from the largest mine clearance company in the Russian Federation, Emercom Demining.

"The detachment is working on the old line of contact until 2022: agricultural lands, anti—personnel and anti-tank minefields, just large areas where explosive objects are present," said Alexander, the head of the humanitarian demining unit.

Among the dangerous items that the sappers are working with are artillery shells, as well as various grenades mounted on tripwires.

Experts use various mechanical means to reduce risks during the work of sappers, Dmitry Astrakhan, a correspondent of Izvestia, found out. These include compact unmanned vehicles. They are remotely controlled and can mow grass up to a height of about 5 cm, which makes the site safer for people. Otherwise, the sappers would have to mow the grass manually.

"The life and health of the staff is a priority for us. People are alive and well, arms and legs are intact, and we will repair the piece of iron," said the head of the works.

Izvestia reported on April 1 that military personnel of the engineering units of the Southern Group of Forces of the Russian Army in the field created and launched mass production of a device for remote mine clearance and mining of the territory using drones. In parallel with the creation of the device, the team has organized a training system for operators of unmanned systems.
