The population of spotted deer has grown almost one and a half times in a year in the south-west of Primorsky Krai. The number of animals in the territories of the national park "Land of the Leopard" and the reserve "Cedar Pad" exceeded 41 thousand individuals.

According to the PrimaMedia news agency, according to the results of the aviation accounting, the number of employees increased by 42-52%. The increase in livestock provides sufficient food for the growing populations of the Amur tiger and the Far Eastern leopard.

Experts remind that spotted deer play an important role in the ecosystem of the south-west of Primorye. Previously, the number of animals decreased due to hunting, fires and economic development of land. The habitat was taken under protection in 2012 with the creation of the national park "Land of the Leopard".

The total number of spotted deer in Primorye reaches 46 thousand individuals.
