Rapper Morgenstern has won the lifting of the ban on entry to Lithuania in court.
Rap artist Alisher Morgenstern (recognized by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation as a foreign agent) has achieved through the court the lifting of a 10-year ban on entry to Lithuania. This was announced on April 15 by the Estonian National Television and Radio Broadcasting (ERR).
The corresponding decision was made by the Lithuanian Supreme Administrative Court (LVAT). It is noted that the decision to ban the artist was made in the absence of sufficient evidence.
As noted in court, such measures should be taken only if there is sufficient evidence. In this regard, the decision to ban the musician's entry into the country was declared illegal.
The ban on the rapper's entry to Lithuania became known on November 13 last year. The decision was made based on an appeal from the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry and additional information indicating that the musician's stay in the country may pose a threat to national security.
On October 24, Vilnius Mayor Valdas Benkunskas appealed to the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry demanding that Morgenstern be included in the list of undesirable persons. It was noted that the reason was the artist's concert scheduled for the end of the year.
