According to him, about 40 Israeli Merkava tanks were disabled at the beginning of the invasion, which he attributed to the use of drones by Hezbollah. Israeli equipment and personnel were not ready to counter the UAVs, the expert said.

He clarified that both reconnaissance drones and kamikaze drones are used: the former identify targets and transmit data, after which strikes are launched. According to the expert, such attacks have led to Israel's largest losses in the last 50 years.

"If we talk about armored vehicles, Israel has not known such losses since the 1973 war. During that Arab-Israeli war, losses were measured in hundreds of tanks, armored vehicles and other equipment. The Israeli air force also suffered heavy losses at that time," Knutov said.

He added that Israel was not ready for modern combat operations using drones. According to him, a significant part of the air defense missiles has been used up and now it is becoming increasingly difficult for the country to repel attacks. The expert also noted problems with precision weapons: Israel, according to him, is forced to use outdated unguided bombs, which increases the risks to civilians.
