ROSSETI has increased its investment program in the Rostov region
This year, ROSSETI Group will allocate 7.8 billion rubles for the modernization and development of power grids in the Rostov region, taking into account additional sources of financing through a regulatory agreement. Another 2.7 billion rubles will be the volume of the repair program, the company's CEO Andrey Ryumin said at a meeting with the head of the region, Yuri Slyusar.
According to Slyusar, one of the areas of bilateral cooperation is "putting things in order in the municipal electric grid." "Since January 2025, the Rostov branch of ROSSETI Yug has been performing the functions of a backbone organization in our region. Municipalities have been given the opportunity to transfer electric grid assets, including ownerless facilities, to them for maintenance. This will increase the reliability of electricity supply in the districts of the region," the governor said.
"The projects implemented by ROSSETI are synchronized with the development plans of the region. In 2025, we increased the capacity of the 500 kV main substation, on which the power supply of Greater Rostov depends. This is one of the largest agglomerations in Russia, where the population is growing and new enterprises are opening. The plans for 2026 include the modernization of power facilities in Aksai and Myasnikovsky districts," Ryumin said.
The meeting also discussed a program to improve the reliability of the grid complex, which is being implemented with co-financing from the federal and regional budgets. It will improve reliability at eight 110 kV and 35 kV substations and modernize almost 274 km of overhead power transmission lines. The fleet of special equipment will be updated, and backup power supplies will be purchased.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed issues related to the work of the Institute of backbone territorial network organizations. Since 2025, ROSSETI Yug has started operating in a new status — it has become a single center responsible for the reliability of electricity supply to consumers in the Rostov region.
