Russian traveler Yuri Masloboev, who crossed the Indian Ocean on an inflatable catamaran and participated in major marine expeditions, died after falling through the ice at the Ob reservoir in Novosibirsk. Masloboev's death was announced on April 15 by his friend, paraglider and extreme athlete Alexander Orlov.

"Yes, Yuri died. <...> He was very active. One of the masters of world travel. Moreover, at a decent age, he remained in very good athletic shape," he said in an interview with TASS.

Orlov added that one of the main versions of what happened is considered by relatives to be a sudden deterioration in well-being. According to him, Masloboev was found in an unusual place for him. He was engaged in snowkiting (a winter sport that involves skiing or snowboarding under the influence of a kite thrust) at the reservoir. They found him much further away from the place where the man usually played sports. Masloboev's friend suggested that perhaps the traveler was trying to move towards people.

Rescuers found Masloboev without signs of life and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The heart was even able to be started, but it was not possible to save the victim.

On April 6, TMZ reported the death of the popular American reality show host "Deadliest Catch." Todd Meadows. According to the publication, death occurred from "drowning with probable hypothermia" and "immersion of the body in cold water." The tragedy was classified as an accident. The incident occurred on board the Aleutian Lady crab fishing vessel in the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska.
