The number of red deer, elk and roe deer has increased significantly in the Lipetsk region. This became clear after calculating the number of wild ungulates in the region.

The results of the winter accounting were summed up by the regional department for the Protection and use of wildlife and aquatic biological resources.

According to GOROD48, there were more moose in the local forests by 7% (812), red deer by 10% (1119), and the number of roe deer increased by 5%, to 6947.

Hunting experts believe that the reason for the increase in numbers is the organization of feedlots. They are made in winter so that the animals do not starve. In addition, the fight against poachers has been established.

Earlier it was reported that the spring hunting season opened in the Lipetsk region on March 20. Shooting drakes from hiding using live decoy ducks will be allowed until April 18.
