Ex-head of the Tomsk Region Health Department arrested

The Kirovsky District Court of Tomsk has arrested Robert Fidarov, the former head of the Tomsk Region Health Department, for two months on charges of embezzlement or embezzlement of funds on an especially large scale. This was reported on April 15 in the joint press service of the courts of the region.

"By a decision of the Kirovsky District Court of Tomsk dated April 15, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention for a period until June 14 in relation to Fidarov R. O.," the TASS news agency reports.

The former official was charged under Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Embezzlement or embezzlement of funds on an especially large scale"), which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years. Fidarov headed the department from October 2022 to February 2026. He left the post of head of the department at his own request.
