Boarding house in Tula will be closed due to an outbreak of infection

The Caring People boarding house may be closed in Tula. The sanitary and epidemiological investigation is being conducted by the regional Department of Rospotrebnadzor. The check began due to the registration of a case of an infectious disease among the guests.

As TSN24 explains, in March, the agency had already received complaints from citizens and carried out appropriate preventive measures. Upon repeated inspection on April 10, experts revealed numerous violations that posed a direct threat to the health of residents.

So, the new guests did not have medical certificates, the care of the residents was insufficient, there was no data on medical examinations of the staff, there was no control over the quality and safety of food, there was no separate room for the reception of new residents. The ventilation system in the residential premises did not work in the building itself, the administration did not organize laundry and regular cleaning with disinfectants.

Based on the results of the inspection, the sanitary service drew up a protocol on the temporary prohibition of the institution's activities. The materials were submitted to the court. On April 17, they will be considered in the Central District Court of Tula.

At the end of March, it was reported that Russia was proposing to introduce licensing of nursing homes, as well as to tighten control over the provision of such services. Senator Oleg Golov made such a proposal to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. The document says that a large—scale "gray zone" has formed and is rapidly expanding in Russia - a network of illegal private boarding schools and nursing homes. These facilities operate outside the legal framework, are not included in the official registers of social service providers, successfully avoid preventive visits and remain physically inaccessible to the risk-based approach mechanism.
