In Murmansk, the authorities do not rule out canceling the Victory Day Parade this year. Bi-port news agency writes about this with reference to regional social networks.

There has been no official confirmation of this information yet. The decision to cancel the parade in the hero city of Murmansk will be made by the leadership of the Leningrad Military District, the agency notes.

There is no data on the parade itself in the plan of festive events, which is approved by the city administration. The list of solemn events includes folk festivals and a solemn rally. The agency writes that in the plans of the Murmansk administration for 2024 and 2025, one of the points was devoted to helping organize a military parade. There are no such mentions this year.

Earlier, on April 5, it was reported that the Kremlin is preparing to celebrate Victory Day this year. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. Thus, he denied information that appeared earlier in the media about the alleged cancellation of the Victory Day parade this year.

Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on the same day that several foreign statesmen had expressed a desire to come to Moscow for the May 9 celebrations. The names of the guests are still being kept secret, but it is already known for sure that Russian President Vladimir Putin will have more than just celebrations on this day.
