All Russian specialists were evacuated from Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant

Russia has successfully evacuated its specialists involved in the construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran. This was announced on April 15 by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Isfahan Andrey Zhiltsov.

The diplomat stressed that the return of employees to their homeland was organized in a short time.

"On the morning of April 15, a multi—day multi-stage operation for the emergency evacuation of Russian specialists involved in the construction of the Bushehr NPP from Iran was successfully completed," Zhiltsov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The Consul General also expressed hope for the work to continue soon. In his opinion, the construction of the facility will be resumed as soon as the situation in the region stabilizes.

On April 13, Russia began the final rotation of personnel at the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran. According to him, 108 employees are leaving the facility as part of planned activities. After the procedures are completed, 20 specialists will remain at the station.

The day before, Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the state corporation, announced Iran's request to resume construction of the Bushehr NPP units. According to Likhachev, 108 Russian specialists left Iran as part of the final stage of the rotation.
