The ready-to-eat food market has grown by 34% over the year. The leaders in the consumption of these dishes among the regions were Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, the Sverdlovsk Region and the Krasnodar Territory. Dialog X5 analysts, who conducted sales research in retail chains, told Izvestia about this on April 15.
"48% of customers purchase ready meals at least once a month. Therefore, we can say that these products have become a full-fledged part of the diet of Russians. The main buyers of ready—made food are young people aged 18-35. They buy it for both main meals and snacks, and they also like to try new products," the study says.
It is noted that people aged 36-55 are more likely to cook at home, but choose ready-made food as a snack. Representatives of the "silver age" purchase it mainly on weekends and holidays. In general, people over the age of 45 are less picky about the assortment — they do not need such a variety of dishes as young people.
At the same time, there are clear differences in the gastronomic preferences of men and women: women are more likely to choose light salads and snacks, sushi and rolls, sweet pastries and healthy snacks. Men are mostly in demand for hearty and nutritious dishes: soups, side dishes, pickles, burgers and shawarma.
The "general" menu includes pizza, full-fledged second courses, unsweetened pastries (for example, sandwiches) and breakfasts (porridges, omelets, cheesecakes, pancakes, etc.).
Nutritionist Elena Solomatina warned on April 13 about the dangers of eating too fast. According to her, the digestion and assimilation of food occurs only at rest, when the parasympathetic nervous system is active. If you start moving actively immediately after eating, working mentally or physically, or feeling nervous, the body redistributes resources, and the work of the gastrointestinal tract slows down or even stops.
