During the trilateral negotiations on the settlement of the conflict between Lebanon and Israel, the possibility of a ceasefire was never mentioned. This was reported to Izvestia on April 15 by Al Mayadeen correspondent Mohammad Karim.

"The administration of [US President Donald] Trump emphasizes that any agreement on Lebanon should be reached through the mediation of the United States, and not through any separate channel - this is a signal that Lebanon is not a subject of discussion in the ceasefire negotiations with Iran," Karim said.

It is known that the final statement only lists the demands of the parties and an agreement has been reached on the next round of direct negotiations, the date of which will be determined later.

Marwan Abdullah, head of the Kataib party's foreign relations department, said on April 15 that the Lebanese parliament allowed the possibility of establishing diplomatic relations with Israel, but only if a number of conditions were met. He also outlined the country's key priorities in the negotiation process with Israel, stressing that the main condition remains the prevention of a new armed conflict.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
