Private Ivan Shik, as part of the assault group, held his positions despite the counterattacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the area of the special military operation on April 15.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces used mortars and artillery, striking Russian positions in order to regain previously lost territories. Shik and several of his comrades engaged in close combat with the enemy, as a result, the private personally destroyed about 10 opponents. The Ukrainian Armed Forces' counterattack was thwarted.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the professionalism of Lieutenant Kirill Ponomarev, who conducted reconnaissance using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) when he discovered an accumulation of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He immediately reported this to the command, transmitting the coordinates of the targets. Soon, the Russian gunners had already begun work, and Ponomarev was instructed to adjust the firing. As a result, all identified targets were eliminated.
