The State Expert Examination approved the project of the Arctic aquathermal complex in Murmansk

Glavgosexpertiza of Russia has issued a positive opinion on the project of the Arctic aquathermal complex, the construction of which is planned in Murmansk. According to the institution, a new type of complex will appear in Pervomaisky district.

A site on Podgornaya Street has been selected for the construction of an entire town for recreation, health promotion and other activities. According to Marina Kurtikova, the chief expert of the project, the complex includes a swimming pool area with attractions, a two-level thermal zone with hammams, steam rooms and saunas, and an outdoor pool area.

"Two cafes, a sports area with a gym and a room for group classes will also be opened for visitors. Up to 500 people will be able to visit the complex at the same time," the expert said.

The total area of the multi-level building will be more than 19 thousand square meters. m. Parking for 312 places will be located nearby, of which 304 are provided for passenger cars and eight for public transport.

According to Bi-Port News agency, the concession agreement for the construction of the Arctic aquathermal sports and recreation complex based on the principles of public-private partnership was concluded in the spring of 2024. The cost of the project is estimated at 2.9–3.8 billion rubles. Initially, construction was planned to begin in 2025.
