The best restaurants in Russia and the CIS are named

On Tuesday, April 14, a solemn ceremony of awarding the first international restaurant award WhereToEat International was held in Moscow. This is reported by the correspondent of Izvestia. Awards were given to the best restaurants in Russia and six post-Soviet countries. In addition, the winners in a series of special nominations were announced.

The award's results are traditionally based on the assessments of hundreds of the country's leading experts from among restaurateurs, hoteliers, chefs, sommeliers, and gastronomic journalists. The nominees are determined by secret ballot.

According to WTE International, BoBo (Saint Petersburg) became the best restaurant of the year. The Olluco restaurant (Moscow) is in second place. Frantsuza Bistrot (Saint Petersburg) took the third place.

The top ten international projects also included Savva (Moscow), Sage (Moscow), Carniceria Vino (Moscow), Tunguska (Krasnoyarsk), Auyl (Almaty, Kazakhstan), Maya (Moscow) and Umai (Kazan).

By tradition, the winners were awarded in special nominations. Askar Baitasov (Kazakhstan) was recognized as the restaurateur of the year, Andrey Shmakov (Savva, Moscow) was awarded the prestigious title of "Chef of the Year", and Marina Naumova (Almond cafe, St. Petersburg) was awarded the title of "Female Chef of the Year".

Alexey Grebenshchikov (VoVo, St. Petersburg) became the pastry chef of the year, Maria Syukrina (Oltremare, Moscow) was recognized as the best sommelier of the year, and Kirill Komissarova (Padron, Moscow) was named waiter of the year for the second time in a row. Cheeseria from Kazan was recognized as the restaurant of the year with the best beer list. The St. Petersburg Academia Bar Shuvaloff was awarded for the best breakfast. The humble project. Social Club+Bar (Irkutsk) was awarded the title of "Bar of the Year".

The award for contribution to the development of the country's restaurant industry was presented to Alexander Belkovich.

WhereToEat is an international restaurant award established in 2013. Then, on the initiative of a group of gastronomic journalists, a rating of the best restaurants in St. Petersburg was compiled. A few years later, the award reached the national and then the international level. Currently, restaurants in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are competing for the title of the best.

On February 20, Anton Lutsenko, the chef of the Moscow Chudo-Yudo restaurant, told Izvestia about the method of cooking leopard pancakes. To draw the spots, you will need a mixture of cocoa powder and boiled water. It is enough to combine one teaspoon of each ingredient in a small bowl and stir until a thick brown paste. You can also use food coloring agents of suitable colors.
