Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, said that a cold snap is expected in Moscow on the weekend of April 18-19, with possible frosts.

In an interview with the Moscow City News agency on Tuesday, April 14, he noted that the most noticeable decrease in temperature is forecast for the weekend: if the air warms up to +14-16 degrees on Friday, then on Saturday the temperature will drop to +7-9 degrees amid prolonged rain.

He added that the cold snap will continue on Sunday and Monday — around 6-7 degrees Celsius is expected in the afternoon, and frosts are possible at night, especially in the region.

On the same day, Shuvalov said that precipitation on April 14 in the capital would be short-lived and not too intense, and would completely stop in the middle of the night. Moderate wind is also expected — its gusts will not exceed 10-12 m/s, notes 360.ru .

On April 13, Shuvalov announced that the sunny weather in Moscow would not last long. Shuvalov added that a significant cooling with snow is not predicted in the coming days, writes RT.

Tatiana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist of the Meteonosti Center, warned about short-term rains in the capital region on April 2. In an interview with IA Regnum, she pointed out that short-term rains are possible in Moscow from April 14 to 16 due to the influence of Atlantic cyclones. The temperature will remain above normal by a couple of degrees.
