The surgeon warned about the risks of refusing sick leave

Fuad Seifullayev, a surgeon and lecturer at the Department of Surgical Diseases at the Medical Faculty of the Synergy University, pointed out the risks of refusing sick leave.

In conversation with the agency RuNews24.Ru On Tuesday, April 14, he noted that he often comes across patients who postpone treatment due to work and are already in a neglected state.

According to him, people often explain this by the inability to take time off due to deadlines, hoping that everything will go away by itself, but in the end the disease only worsens. The expert emphasized that the employer is able to influence the situation more strongly than the doctor, since prevention is more profitable than treatment of the consequences.

He explained that one of the key measures should be to provide employees with time for routine examinations. According to him, many operations could take place calmly and without complications if people did not postpone a visit to the doctor. The fixed opportunity to undergo basic inspections every six months reduces the number of emergencies and makes the company's work more predictable.

The specialist also pointed out the importance of creating a comfortable environment: problems with blood vessels, back and neck are often associated with lack of mobility and uncomfortable posture. According to him, even simple solutions — access to water or convenient infrastructure — stimulate movement and reduce the risk of diseases.

He paid special attention to stress, emphasizing that constant stress negatively affects the body and can lead to serious consequences. According to him, employees often postpone treatment due to fear of management's reaction, while the support and understanding from the employer help them take care of their health on time and avoid serious complications.
