According to him, the disease can be suspected by symptoms such as a sharp deterioration in vision, hearing and sense of smell, headaches and loss of coordination, after which the patient is usually referred for an MRI scan with contrast to confirm the diagnosis.
The expert clarified that in the early stages, the tumor is more often found in people aged 30-40 years, since such symptoms are atypical for them and cause alertness. At the same time, the peak incidence occurs at the age of 60-70 years, however, in elderly patients, the disease is more difficult to recognize due to blurred symptoms associated with age-related changes.
Oncologist Alexey Rumyantsev warned on April 13 that the symptoms of ovarian cancer are often not obvious.: This may be a slight heaviness in the abdomen, minor digestive problems, or a gradual increase in abdominal volume.
