The visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to China is aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership and coordinating the actions of the two countries in the international arena. This was stated to Izvestia on April 14 by State Duma Deputy Alexander Tolmachev.

"The concrete results are the continuation and increase of the pace of cooperation between our countries. The validity of the previous agreement on good—neighborliness, friendship and cooperation expires in a few months, it will be extended and it's time to check your watch and set yourself up for new horizons of joint work," he said.

According to the parliamentarian, the international situation has changed significantly in recent years, which increases the interest of Russia and China in the development of a multipolar world.

The MP also stressed that the countries remain not only neighbors, but also strategic partners who intend to deepen cooperation in both economic and political spheres.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Beijing on an official visit on April 14.

On the same day, Lavrov said that the West was not stopping dangerous games on Taiwan and was escalating the situation around the Korean peninsula. The minister added that the entire vast continent requires constant attention, and expressed confidence that the parties will be able to discuss practical steps in line with the initiatives of the Chinese President on global security and the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the formation of a Eurasian continent-wide security architecture.
