Car toilet patented in China

The Chinese company Seres, which manufactures Aito brand cars, has issued a patent for the design of a car toilet. This was reported by CarNewsChina on April 14.

The device consists of a toilet bowl body and skids that are attached to a car seat. If necessary, the toilet can be pulled out from under the seat and pushed back after use. The concealed toilet design is designed in such a way that sanitary equipment occupies minimal space in the cabin, the note says.

However, according to the publication, there are a number of questions about the patent of the Seres car toilet. For example, it does not specify how the flush should be implemented, where the water will be stored, how the durability of the skids will be ensured, and what solutions can be applied to eliminate unpleasant odors.

It is also noted that many users may have difficulty overcoming the psychological barrier associated with using the toilet in the car. However, as noted in the note, such a concept can be implemented on individual orders.

Earlier, on March 26, it was reported that according to the results of the first two months of 2026, only 92 new Aito cars were registered in Russia. This is four times less (-75.5%) than in January-February last year, when 376 such cars were sold.
