The expert called the vulnerable spot of Chinese cars
Most modern Chinese cars are distinguished by large radiator grilles with large cells. Although this is probably done to resemble premium cars, such grilles increase the risk of accidental stones or nuts getting into the radiator. This was announced on April 14 by the head of the service area of the Fresh automotive marketplace, Vladimir Andreev.
According to the expert, owners of Chinese-made cars should take care to install a protective metal mesh under the radiator grille. It has a mesh size of about 5-8 mm, is well painted or has a galvanized coating.
"In ideal conditions, it is better without a grid, everything works as designed by the designers. But the grid saves not only from holes, but also dents on radiators, which complicate heat removal. I have not seen cars overheated due to the installation of a normal grid in my practice," Rossiyskaya Gazeta quotes Andreev as saying.
He noted that the highest probability of injury occurs in the summer on the highway, where any stone "acquires the force of a bullet." In the city, however, drivers are also not immune from damage: on a highway with a high flow rate, there may be rubble left after road work or falling out of the dump truck body.
Earlier that day, Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the international franchise network of car service Fit Service, warned about the risks of late replacement of antifreeze in the car. The renewal of this fluid is a critical factor in maintaining the smooth operation of the engine. The use of spent fuel inevitably leads to breakdowns, which can be expensive to repair, he said.
