Vyacheslav Sokolov, the main suspect in the murder of Moscow designer Svetlana Halapova, used violence against his wife and her children. This was stated on April 14 by Maria Sokolova's daughter, the Izvestia correspondent reports from the courtroom.

According to her, we are talking about the period when the family lived in the Sverdlovsk region, as well as the time after moving to Moscow in 2018. The girl claims that Sokolov beat her and her brother when they were minors, as well as their mother. The woman, as follows from the testimony, made attempts to leave, but failed to do so.

Vyacheslav Sokolov remains the main suspect in the murder of Khalyapova. Investigators believe that in 2016, he strangled a woman during a meeting related to discussing the purchase of her apartment, for which he had no funds. At that time, Sokolov worked as a handyman in her studio and rented a place from her.

The investigation is being conducted as part of a larger criminal case involving a criminal group involved in illegal real estate transactions. Sokolov's whereabouts and Khalyapova's body have not yet been established.

The day before, the court reported that the amount of money received by members of a criminal group known as the chameleons from a deal with the apartment of missing Muscovite Svetlana Halapova amounted to 7.9 million rubles.

In February last year, the Tushinsky District Court sentenced Natalia Kotova and Natalia Yeremenko, members of the Chameleon gang, to 14 and six years of general regime. According to the investigation, the fraud scheme was as follows: First, the criminals gained access to the apartments, then they registered them with new, formal owners, and then tried to sell them.
