Geely announces recall of 38.9 thousand Atlas crossovers in Russia
In Russia, a recall of 38.9 thousand Chinese Geely Atlas crossovers has been announced to replace the parking assistant fuse. This is stated in the message of the Russian representative office of the brand, which was received by Izvestia on April 14.
The review has been agreed with Rosstandart. The campaign includes cars produced between October 11, 2023 and September 30, 2025.
"The recall campaign is being conducted in order to eliminate the risk of incorrect operation of parking sensors, which can lead to excessive heating and, as a result, damage to adjacent vehicle components," Geely said in a statement.
To prevent abnormal situations related to parking sensors, dealership specialists will replace the fuse of the parking assistant control module for free with a different type of device designed for a lower rated current (from 10A to 5A), which should provide enhanced protection against overheating. The campaign also involves procedures related to checking and updating the parking assistant system software on all affected vehicles.
Geely representatives pointed out that conducting recall campaigns is the standard global practice of automakers to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. The procedure is designed to prevent potentially incorrect operation of individual vehicle components.
Earlier, on March 3, Geely introduced in Russia a new version of the Atlas crossover with a 150-horsepower engine. It has become the most affordable modification of the model.
