Germany announced plans to transfer 10,000 drones to Kiev
Berlin will transfer 10,000 drones to Kiev, and Quantum Systems, a German manufacturer of civil and military unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), is engaged in their production. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on April 14.
"We are convinced that this form of cooperation is the central foundation for Europe's future defense capabilities," Matthias Lehn, managing director of Quantum Frontline Industries, said in a statement.
Bild notes that the German government "wants to cooperate more actively" with Ukrainian defense enterprises. It is assumed that the German authorities will directly benefit from the supply of military equipment to Kiev.
The Reuters news agency reported on April 7 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) faced a shortage of mini-engines for attack drones due to a lack of capacity for their production in Europe and in the country. An agency source in the Ukrainian defense industry said the shortage of mini-engines has become a "big problem" for Ukraine's entire missile program and is limiting production at a critical time.
