The coming to power of the Tisa party in Hungary will not contribute to the rapid unblocking of the European loan to Ukraine. This was announced on April 13 by the Euractiv portal.

We are talking about a European loan to Ukraine in the amount of €90 billion, which was blocked by Budapest in March after the suspension of oil pumping through the Druzhba pipeline.

The leader of the Tisa party, Peter Magyar, hinted that he would lift Budapest's veto on the loan. At the same time, he expressed confusion as to why this scheme was blocked at all, given that Hungary had the right to withdraw from financial participation, which means that it is not responsible for paying off interest or the principal amount of the loan.

However, even if the veto is lifted, Kiev will not receive the funds soon, the authors of the material note. The veto will not be lifted until a new Hungarian government is appointed, which Magyar plans to form by May 5. In addition, the financing plan itself, the memorandum of understanding between Kiev and Brussels and the loan agreement remain unknown, which in the most short-term scenario will be approved only by the beginning of May.

At the same time, Slovakia can veto the European loan instead of Hungary, which is also suffering from the suspension of oil supplies through Druzhba. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico previously stated that "Bratislava is ready to take over the baton to block the loan from Budapest, if necessary."

Political analyst Alexander Asafov said on April 13 that the position of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, does not depend very much on the loss of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban or the victory of the leader of the opposition Tisa party, Peter Magyar. According to him, Orban was not the only obstacle to Ukraine receiving the frozen €90 billion, in addition, Magyar's position on sending weapons to Kiev is known.

On April 12, Magyar announced the victory of his party in the parliamentary elections. Orban admitted defeat and congratulated his opponent on his victory.
