In the Amur region, a court recovered more than 5 million rubles from a gold mining company for damage caused to the environment. This happened during exploration work in the Ilikan Creek in the Zeya municipal district.

Compliance with environmental legislation was carried out by the District Prosecutor's Office and the regional Ministry of Natural Resources. An organization mining placer gold in the creek basin violated water laws. The suspended solids content was increased in the water. This led to the pollution of the stream.

The claim for damages filed by the prosecutor's office was satisfied by the Zeisky District Court, PriamurMedia news agency writes.

Earlier it was reported that in the Amur region in 2025, 73 million rubles were recovered from unscrupulous subsoil users for causing damage. A record payment of 28 million rubles was made from an enterprise that was engaged in the extraction of placer gold in the Selimdzhinsky district. This is more than a third of all collected debts.
