KamAZ is preparing for mass production of Russia's first tourist bus of the latest K5 family. It is intended to replace imported cars in the segment of intercity and tourist transportation, the Rostec press service reported in its Telegram channel on April 14.

It is stated that all the key components and components of the bus were created by Russian enterprises, the car is equipped with a domestic gas engine. The power reserve is about 500 km, and when additional cylinders are installed, the indicator reaches 650 km. This design reduces the cost of operation and reduces the burden on the environment, the state corporation noted. The bus can accommodate 47 passengers, is equipped with multimedia equipment, a refrigerator and a toilet.

The bus is currently undergoing certification tests. A limited batch is planned to be produced by the end of 2026, and serial production is scheduled to start in 2027. Rostec noted that such buses are the "face of the tourism industry," and until recently, such "faces" were foreign-made cars.

"This is a step towards ensuring that the Russian tourism industry relies on its own solutions that are in no way inferior to foreign models," the state corporation stressed.

Earlier, on January 16, sales of the nine-meter Sollers SA6 bus, which is also produced in Russia, began in Russia. The model is available from dealers at a price starting from 10.7 million rubles (including a discount of 2 million rubles under the preferential leasing program). It is suitable not only for tourist and sightseeing routes, but also for intercity transportation in the regions, as well as for organizing corporate transport.
