On May 7, the Russian military action drama "Father" is released, a story about a father's love that turns out to be stronger than death. The film entered the main competition of the 48th Moscow International Film Festival, which will be held from April 16 to 23. This year, 13 participants from all over the world are competing for the main awards, including the painting "Father".

The film will be released by NMG Kinoprokat, a Russian distributor of feature and animated films (part of the National Media Group holding). The film directed by Pavel Ivanov tells how the Siberian hunter Gavriil Sobinov goes to the front as a volunteer, after the news that his son Semyon, a young lieutenant, has gone missing.

The main role was played by Ilya Shakunov, the cast included Roman Vasiliev, Vladislav Tyrone, Egor Abramov, Alina Dulova and Ekaterina Channova.

The year is 1942. Siberian hunter Gavriil Sobinov learns that his son Semyon has gone missing. Gabriel volunteers for the front in the hope of finding his son alive. Once on the front line, he leads a group of snipers, and now he has to teach young fighters how to fight.

"Father" is more than a war movie. This is a drama about the fact that even in the darkest time there is a place for hope. True love overcomes fear, pain, and death itself.

Ilya Shakunov, actor: "Together with the scriptwriters, director and cameraman, we endowed my character with our special qualities. Of course, there's something about the character from me, too - it's feelings and emotions. The filming in the Volgograd steppes became the most memorable, they made the last days of work brighter and more interesting."

Vladislav Tyron, actor: "My character is an intellectual, raised in a cultured family. It is difficult for him to show emotions and he has completely closed himself off from the world, it is easier for him alone. However, as the story progresses, he learns to talk about feelings and his actions change. This is a story about discovering the wealth of the inner world. There were several expeditions during the work on the film. I remember the shooting in St. Petersburg the most. Despite the fact that we were constantly running and crawling in the mud, the feeling was wonderful. One of my most vivid memories was learning the basics of combat training and working with weapons in a military unit. After filming, I was left with a feeling of light and pleasant sadness."

Roman Vasiliev, actor: "My hero is no different from the young guys who are under his command. He experiences pain and horror from circumstances in which he is often unable to do anything. He has to overcome this impotence every day. My hero is closed and secretive, any rapprochement adds pain to his life. During the filming, I remember the expedition to the Volgograd region, where we were warmly and openly received. Difficulties arose, but we overcame them together with the team. It brought us closer together and had a positive impact on the final result."

Starring: Ilya Shakunov, Vladislav Tyron, Roman Vasiliev, Egor Abramov, Alina Dulova, Ekaterina Channova, Nikita Stolyarov, Vitaly Tatarinovich, Kirill Rusin, Olga Kalashnikova, Nikita Tarasov, Maxim Vazhov, Dmitry Sutyrin, Tatiana Yakovenko, Sergey Galich.
