- The court ordered 10 days of arrest for the student who threw a moccasin at Lenin's sarcophagus.
A court in Moscow sentenced Konstantin Bodunov, a student who threw a moccasin into a sarcophagus in the Mausoleum of Vladimir Lenin, to 10 days of arrest under the article on minor hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code). This was announced on April 13 on the official portal of the courts of general jurisdiction of Moscow.
"To find him guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, and to impose a punishment in the form of administrative arrest for a period of 10 days," the court said.
It is noted that in addition, the detainee behaved defiantly, loudly expressed obscenities, waved his arms, and obstructed the passage of other visitors. He did not respond to the repeated demands of the police officer to stop his actions, and during the arrest and delivery he aggressively resisted and tried to escape.
During the court session, Bodunov said that his disagreement with Lenin's economic and religious policies had prompted him to take such actions. He did not admit his guilt.
Last year, Lenin's Mausoleum was temporarily closed from April 23 to May 19 due to events. Prior to that, from February 18 to April 14, the mausoleum was closed for maintenance work. It was noted that routine preventive maintenance is carried out every two years.
