The new building of the Kurchatov School will open in Moscow on September 1
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced on Monday, April 13, in the MACH messenger that a new building of the Kurchatov School on the Volokolamsk Highway would open on September 1.
According to him, the building, designed for 815 students in grades 1-11, will become not only a school with a closed territory, but also a community center, part of the urban environment, the Moscow City News agency reports.
He noted that BIM technologies were actively used in the design, and the architectural concept provides for the effect of a "floating" building along the riverbank. Almost the entire ground floor will be completed with stained glass windows, an outdoor terrace with an observation deck, landscaping and lighting for classes and events will appear on the roof. The interior space is organized according to the "school-city" principle: instead of long corridors, there are "streets" and recreation areas, a multi—level atrium amphitheater with mobile partitions, which can be combined with a dining room for lectures, meetings and performances, writes NSN.
Sobyanin stressed that the new building will become the architectural dominant of the Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo district, where large-scale landscaping has been carried out in recent years, including the reconstruction of the Volokolamsk Highway and the development of the territory of the former Tushinsky airfield. He added that two more schools, a kindergarten, a sports medicine center and a sports palace with an ice arena and a swimming pool are currently under construction in the area. kp.ru .
