Pavel Savchuk has been unanimously re-elected chairman of the Russian Red Cross (RCC) for a new term. This was announced on April 13 by the press service of the organization.

"Pavel Savchuk was re—elected chairman of the Russian Red Cross at the XVIII Congress of the Russian Red Cross, the main statutory event of the organization, which is held every five years. The decision was made by the delegates of the congress unanimously," TASS reports.

The press service clarified that the powers of the re-elected head will take effect on April 13, 2026.

During a speech at the XVIII congress of the organization, Alexander Zhuravsky, Deputy head of the Department of Public Projects of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, said that about 8.6 million Russians had received assistance from the Russian Red Cross (RCC) over the past five years. He stressed that the level of citizens' trust in the organization has grown significantly, and noted that the RSC is becoming an important expert and resource center developing its own educational projects.
