The Omoda C7 crossover may receive a more powerful version with a 186-horsepower engine in Russia, and production of the model is planned to be launched at the former Volkswagen plant in the Kaluga Region this year. This was reported on April 13 by Auto Magazine.<url>" with reference to the Vehicle Type Approval (OTT) issued to the model.

The Omoda C7 has been certified with a 1.6-liter engine, which develops 150 hp in front—wheel drive and 186 hp in all-wheel drive. At the same time, the model is currently available only with a less powerful unit. In all cases, a seven-speed robotic transmission is combined with the engine.

In addition, according to data from the OTS, the Omoda C7 model will be put on the assembly line of an automobile plant in Kaluga, where Tenet crossovers are currently being produced. As Omoda representatives have already told us, it is planned to start assembling a new C4 crossover in Russia, which has not yet gone on sale.

Currently, the Omoda C7 costs in Russia from 2.94 million rubles for the front-wheel drive version and from 3.15 million rubles for the all-wheel drive version (we are talking about the 2025 model year). The 2026 crossovers are available in only one top-end configuration for 3.5 million rubles.

In early March, Omoda launched sales of a facelifted version of the popular C5 model. It is offered in three trim levels and costs from 2.35 million to 2.65 million rubles.
