Militants attacked a base of the Armed Forces of Nigeria on the border with Chad and killed seven soldiers. This was reported on April 13 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.

Islamist militants on motorcycles stormed an army base near Nigeria's northeastern border with Chad, killing the commander and six other soldiers late on Sunday evening.

It is noted that the attack was carried out by members of the Boko Haram group (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) and the Islamic State in West Africa cell (affiliated with the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda terrorist organizations banned in Russia). During the repulse of the attack on the military base, 12 militants were killed.

On January 19, Reuters reported that the Nigerian Air Force carried out airstrikes against Islamic State and Boko Haram terrorist cells in Borno State, resulting in the destruction of more than 40 militants and 10 watercraft. Military personnel and local officials reported that the airstrikes disrupted planned attacks on the towns of Baga and a fish storage facility on Lake Chad.
