- The Victory Museum will show 70 films as part of the VI International Festival of Proper Cinema.
The VI International Festival of Proper Cinema starts at the Victory Museum on April 21, and the film forum will be held until April 28. The Victory Museum will become the central venue of the festival. Competitive screenings will also be held in Krasnogorsk, Zhukov, Donetsk, Perm, Kaliningrad and Yakutsk, and films from the non-competitive program will be shown at the sites of the Victory Museum's partners in the Victory Territory and Victory School Museum projects, as well as members of the Association of Historical and Military History Museums. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
"Over the years, our film festival has become a landmark cultural event. 220 films were presented at five festivals, which were watched by more than half a million viewers. Over 12,000 screenings were organized for residents of 77 regions of our country. This year, thanks to the joint work with Rossotrudnichestvo, film screenings will also be held at the venues of Russian houses in foreign countries, as well as at schools at embassies in Germany, the Republic of Angola, Bulgaria, India, Myanmar, Canada, Mexico, Sweden, France," said the director of the International Festival of Proper Cinema, head of the Poklonka Cinema Museum. In total, the competition received over 479 applications from 34 countries. The commission selected 70 films to participate in the competition program. The festival will feature the best films based on traditional values, ideas of humanism and charity, helping to preserve the continuity of generations, as well as dedicated to famous personalities who have contributed to the history and development of the country, and the feat of Russian citizens. The films will be presented in the following categories: feature films, animated films, feature-length documentaries, and short films. In addition, non—competitive screenings will be organized, including those dedicated to the anniversaries of outstanding actors, film directors and writers - Stanislav Govorukhin, Alexander Rowe, Dziga Vertov, Mikhail Bulgakov and others. The audience will also be presented films of the restored newsreel "Samara Newsreel Studio".
