- The Face of the Child Foundation celebrated the 90th anniversary of the birth of founder Roginsky
On April 13, the Child's Face Charitable Foundation celebrates the 90th anniversary of the birth of its founder, Vitaly Vladislavovich Roginsky, an outstanding scientist, Doctor of medical Sciences, who died almost a year ago.
Professor Roginsky founded the Child's Face Charitable Foundation and headed it for more than 23 years, providing children from different regions of the country with the necessary medical care from the best specialists, regardless of their place of residence and financial situation. For many parents, the Foundation has become the last hope, and has honorably fulfilled their expectations. Vitaly Vladislavovich left behind numerous students, significant scientific achievements and his own scientific school. His legacy includes hundreds of publications and thousands of healed children, as well as the kind memory of colleagues and grateful parents.
After the professor's departure, the foundation's staff admit that they felt orphaned for the first few weeks. But the words of V.V. Roginsky came back to my memory: "The meaning of life is setting and achieving goals." They became the reference point for the team, which set itself the task of preserving the fund so that every child could receive qualified medical care and realize their talents, despite their congenital pathologies. Professor Roginsky handed over the leadership of the Saprykina Foundation in advance and blessed the team for a new stage of work.
Shortly after the professor's departure, his friend and colleague, Head of the Department of Pediatric Maxillofacial Surgery at the Russian University of Medicine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Orest Zinovievich Topolnitsky proposed creating a Book in memory of the professor. The work on it brought dozens of people together. 47 authors, including the professor's first students, colleagues and friends, wrote their essays, creating a vivid portrait of this unique specialist and person. In October 2025, the book was presented at the International Conference "Kolesovsky Readings-2025". It can be downloaded and read from the link.
The successful publication of the book was the Foundation's first project implemented without its founder. The Foundation, together with the professor's students, is currently finalizing the formation of an Expert and Board of Trustees. This is necessary to preserve the continuity of the Roginsky scientific school, as well as to make the work of the foundation as transparent and strategically verified as possible. Partnership agreements with leading clinics, including Burdenko National Research Medical Center and CNIICLH, have already been updated. Cooperation with manufacturers of medical devices continues.
We are particularly proud that FSBI NMIC TSNIISICHLH, where Vitaly Vladislavovich worked for 40 years, named the new clinic after the professor. Now it is the "Scientific and Clinical Center for Pediatric Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics and Dentistry named after Professor V.V. Roginsky."
The Foundation continues to develop its programs that have changed the landscape of pediatric maxillofacial surgery in Russia.:
"Let's give beauty back to children" is a basic program that gives children the right to a happy life without embarrassment.
"Health Improvement" is a project to help children from orphanages in remote regions, awarded the diploma "Business Glory of Russia-2010".
"There will be fewer tumors" is a flagship project aimed at early detection and treatment of vascular pathology of the head and neck in children, supported by presidential grants.
"Shaping the Child's Head" is a program for helping with cranial deformities that has already changed the lives of more than 1,000 children.
The Dental and Dental Surgery Portal, a strategic project created as a single access point for specialists and parents, continues to develop, bringing together the country's maxillofacial surgeons.
In charity, you can't measure everything with money and reports, says Anna Saprykina, president of the foundation. The main result of the work is the happy faces of children who are no longer afraid of pain and the gaze of others. It is for this reason that Professor Roginsky created the "Child's Face" 23 years ago. And that's what the foundation is working for today.
