More than 100 thousand applications for the choice of their license plates were issued by drivers in Kazakhstan

In less than three months, Kazakhstan has received 103.7 thousand applications from citizens to choose the desired letter and number combinations of license plates for cars. Artur Miskaryan, head of the Agency for Monitoring and Analysis of the Car Market (AMAAR), told about this in his Telegram channel on April 13.

At the same time, according to the expert, sales of new cars in the republic for the same period approximately amounted to 42-46 thousand units.

The possibility of freely choosing state registration plates when registering or re-registering a car appeared in Kazakhstan at the beginning of this year, Miskaryan explained.

The cost of such numbers with the selected combination of letters and numbers is 10-15 times the monthly calculation index (MCI). At the same time, other tariffs apply to "high-demand rooms," he noted.

The bill, which proposes to introduce a mechanism that allows car owners in Russia to reserve a state registration number from among those available using the Gosuslugi portal for a fee, was submitted to the State Duma last fall. On April 8, the Committee on Transport and Transport Infrastructure Development proposed to adopt it in the first reading.

As reported on February 20, the cost of the most expensive license plate in Russia amounted to 2.1 billion rubles.
