In the first quarter of 2026, 1,564 new Honda vehicles were registered in Russia. This is 4.6 times more (+363%) than in January-March last year, when 338 cars of this Japanese brand were registered. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on April 13.

59% of new Honda cars came to Russia from China at once. Almost all the others are imported from Japan and have a right-hand steering wheel.

More than 60% of the demand was for the Honda CR-V (488 units) and Vezel (484 units) crossovers. The third most popular compact crossover is the Honda WR-V (259 units).

As the specialist explained earlier, the high growth in registrations of new cars of such German and Japanese brands in Russia is explained by the effect of a low base and the fear of Russians that it will soon become much more difficult to purchase such cars.

So, on April 13, it became known that 2.5 times more new German cars were sold in Russia in the first quarter of 2026 than in the same period last year. In total, almost 12.5 thousand brand cars from Germany were sold in January-March, compared to 4,887 units in the quarter a year earlier.
