A boy injured by a firecracker explosion in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Moscow region, had part of his fingers amputated. This was announced on April 13 by Maxim Zabelin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health of the Moscow Region.
"About the condition of the boy who was injured yesterday by a firecracker explosion in Orekhovo-Zuyevo. The patient underwent surgery, unfortunately, some of the fingers had to be amputated," Zabelin wrote on the MAX messenger.
According to him, doctors assess the teenager's condition as satisfactory, he remains under observation. Psychologists, rehabilitologists and other specialists joined the child's treatment.
The incident was reported on April 12 by a source of Izvestia. Victoria, the mother of the injured boy, said that the teenager was walking with a friend and visited him, and after he had lunch at a pizzeria. She learned about the incident from her husband. The teenager had his finger phalanx amputated.
The day before, the Investigative Committee (IC) opened a criminal case under Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing serious harm to health by negligence") on the incident. After amputation, he was transferred from Orekhovo-Zuyevo Hospital to the L.M. Roshal Children's Scientific and Clinical Center.
