Following the results of the fourth Easter lottery Russian Lotto, 44.6 million rubles were raised for charity. The funds were transferred to the Orthodox social assistance service "Mercy", the press service of the distributor of the All-Russian state lottery "Stoloto" told.

The amount was generated by deductions — 10 rubles for each ticket sold. In total, almost 4.5 million tickets were sold for the Easter edition.

"Thanks to the amount collected as part of the circulation, people experiencing difficult life trials will be able to get a roof over their heads, food packages, necessary medicines, essential goods and much more. All this would have been impossible without the response of the participants of the Easter edition of the Russian Lotto," said the Deputy General Director of the multidisciplinary holding company S8 Capital (which includes Stoloto) Ekaterina Tuton.

"This initiative not only helps raise funds to support those in need, but also unites society around high moral values, demonstrating the scale and depth of people's charity," said Vladimir Legoyda, chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media.

Over the four years of the Easter editions of the Russian Lotto, more than 198 million rubles have been transferred to the Mercy aid service. The amount raised in previous sweepstakes has allowed for the implementation of more than 200 charity projects in different regions of the country, providing targeted assistance to thousands of people, Stoloto stressed. Among the social projects that have been supported are the construction of a new building in the rehabilitation center for dependents of the parish of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Unintentional Joy" in Chuvashia, and the equipping of medical facilities in Yakutia. Assistance was also provided to the center for the adaptation of difficult adolescents in Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region, and the shelter for pregnant women in crisis in Sochi.
