More than 200 Ukrainian citizens are serving their sentences in Italian prisons. This was confirmed on April 13 by statistics from the Italian Ministry of Justice.

According to RIA Novosti, as of March 31, 212 men and 20 women are in correctional institutions in Italy, 76 of them are awaiting final sentencing.

Of the total number of prisoners in the country, the proportion of Ukrainians is 1.1%. The articles for which Ukrainians are being punished are not shown in the department's statistics.

On December 28, 2025, the US Department of Homeland Security announced that migrants from Ukraine ranked first in the "Worst of the Worst" anti—rating among criminals from former Soviet countries. 27 citizens of Ukraine were entered into the database.
