- Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces shared the specifics of their work in the Konstantinovsky area
The soldiers of the calculation of the mobile fire group (MOG) of the 4th brigade of the Southern Group of Forces shared the specifics of their work in the Konstantinovsky direction. On April 13, Izvestia publishes footage of combat work.
During the field combat mission, they were accompanied by Izvestia correspondent Egor Kildibekov. As noted, the fighters use the Ulan-2 vehicle, which allows them to move quickly through difficult terrain and quickly take up positions.
"She's equipped (the car. — Ed.) with a Utes — a large-caliber machine gun, Igla MANPADS, Verba MANPADS, a 7.62 mm machine gun, a shotgun and a drone detector," said the commander of the calculation with the call sign Thomas.
During the trip, the military discovered an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). After getting out of the car, the fighters used a "Christmas Tree" drone designed to intercept other drones.
The mobile groups also have air defense systems at their disposal, including man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS), small arms and special detectors. In particular, the "Owl" device is used, which detects enemy drones and gives an audible signal similar to the hooting of this bird.
"In the last few minutes, he (the drone detector) has practically not stopped talking," Kildibekov shared.
According to the military, the key factor for successful work remains the promptness of actions and the correct assessment of the situation.
On April 1, Kildibekov said that military personnel of the engineering units of the Southern Group of Forces of the Russian Army in the field created and launched mass production of a device for remote mine clearance and mining of the territory using drones. The device allows you to accurately lower the explosive charge onto the mine using a servo mounted on the drone.
