In Orekhovo-Zuyevo, the Investigative Committee (IC) opened a criminal case into the injury of an 11-year-old child. This was announced on April 12 by the press service of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region.
"An investigator of the investigative department for the city of Orekhovo-Zuyevo of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region has opened a criminal case into the injury of an 11-year—old child," the IACH said in a statement.
The case was opened on the grounds of a crime under Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing serious harm to health by negligence"). According to investigators, two boys on Bugrova Street tried to detonate a firecracker.
The shell exploded in the hands of one of the children. As a result of the incident, the child was injured in the form of amputation of the phalanx of his finger and was hospitalized.
Maxim Zabelin, Minister of Health of the Moscow Region, clarified the condition of the victim and informed him about his transportation to a specialized institution.
"The injured child was taken to the Orekhovo-Zuyevsky Hospital, he is currently receiving the necessary medical care and is being transferred to the L.M. Roshal Children's Research and Clinical Center," the minister wrote on the Telegram channel.
The incident was reported on the same day by a source of Izvestia. Victoria, the mother of the injured boy, said that the teenager was walking with a friend and visited him, and after he had lunch at a pizzeria. Later, her husband reported on the phone that the child had lost his fingers.
