Russia is improving measures to protect its oil refineries from attacks by Ukrainian drones, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 12.

"Of course, measures are being taken, they are being improved. Unfortunately, the enemy is quite insidious, technology is developing rapidly, and most importantly, the essence of the Kiev regime remains, which poses an immediate danger to us," he said in a conversation with Vesti correspondent Pavel Zarubin.

Thus, when the goals of the special military operation (SVO) are achieved, Russia will already protect itself from the continuation of such risks, the press secretary of the head of state said.

On April 2, the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, announced attempts to attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at an oil refinery in Ufa. As a result, a fire started on the territory of one of the enterprises.

At the same time, Vladimir Dzhabarov, first deputy chairman of the Federation Council's International Affairs Committee, noted that Russia would have the right to attack the decision-making centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in response to Kiev's attempts to destabilize the Russian energy infrastructure. He stressed that Kiev is striving to inflict maximum economic damage against the backdrop of the growing global oil crisis.
